Electric bass scale primer

Vertical scale charts

Scale charts are sometimes written in a vertical format. The chart is just a picture of the neck of the bass if it was standing up, neck in the air. You would still just play the notes from the lowest sounding to the highest and back down. If you are familiar with guitar, this is the same way that chord charts are written.
